流浪@Spread the Love

Just got this page forwarded by Cath, that I think is really interesting and worth sharing...

In difficult times like this, let us use our love and spread our love to the girl/guy of our dreams only everyone around us... Love will make the world a better place to be in....

My personal favourite:

Lisa Hoffman

Love is like pi - natural, irrational, and very important.

流浪@Weekend at Home

Am back in KL again, after a few days in Penang...

Didn't drive this time though, I left my car in Penang and followed How Chen's car back.. will be heading back up again on Monday...

The thing is, I have been feeling restless and helpless for the weekend at home.. nothing to do, nowhere to go, no money to spend, no nothing... can't help but feel like it's better to head up again as soon as possible...

Anyway, I don't really have anything to blog about at the moment, just making this post for the sake of making a post.. while being in the midst of emo-ness...

Hmm, maybe I can just show off show some pichas taken with my V3x while being in Penang all this while...

Peggy and Cath doing their hair

This was... on a Sunday, 2 weeks ago.. I was supposed to catch Walllll-Eeee and Eeeee-Veeee with Cath, Cannas, Bing, and 2 of their colleagues (Yi Chong *corrected, thx Cath* and Thian Min) in Gurney Plaza in the evening... having nothing to do, I ended up tapao-ing some cendol from New World Park for them and sitting around in the saloon waiting for them...

And holy sh*t, it was the 1st time I see someone eating cendol/playing sms/answering phone calls while doing their hair... When I have my haircut, a slight move from my head would result in my head being sliced the barber scolding me to stop moving -.-"

Ta Da~ Peggy's new look~

Bing came and wait with me for awhile, but he fell asleep because he was very tired...

Didn't even realize Peggy doing this to him

Fast forward to..... 2 days ago, last Friday...

I was hanging around in Penang doing nothing, so for once, I volunteered to chauffeur How Chen to a place for blood donation... While waiting, and having nothing to do, I played with my V3x for abit again...

Taken from where I was standing, at 1st floor

It's nearing Merdeka Day, isn't it?

The blood donation campaign stage

Maybe I should not reveal which building this is.. Penangites, especially Motorolans might recognize this place, and non-Penangites would probably not give a d*mn about this place anyway...

Time to lunch, will just stop here with my random post...

流浪@AEON Seberang Perai City

Was heading to Penang again last Monday...

Was supposed to come on Tuesday, but then, the mother of all by-elections was on Tuesday, so to avoid any possible untoward incidents, I decided to come 1 day earlier...

Anyway, I found time to check this place which opened on August 22nd out before heading into the island...

AEON Seberang Perai City Shopping Centre @ Bandar Perda... basically it's located inside the kampung kampung area between Permatang Pauh and Bukit Mertajam.. and then suddenly a few rows of newly built shophouses and a huge shopping mall appear in the middle of it.. I think that's why it's called, Bandar Perda and not Kampung Perda..

So what's there in this new largest AEON Shopping Centre in Malaysia? Well, we have the usual suspects of a typical AEON..

AEON will never be AEON without JUSCO

The usual brands u can find in AEON shopping centres

And then there's also some shops with names that suggest that they aspire to be the next big thing in Malaysia...

I've never heard of Vince Avenue before -.-"

And then, for a moment, I thought Disney's flagship store is here...

But no, this is the shop's name

There's also some outlets that I never realized are fixtures in AEONs...

I never notice any Starbucks in previous AEONs (thanks Cannas for enlightening me)

I'm not sure if it's to celebrate the opening of this shopping centre, or to celebrate the up and coming Mooncake Festival, but they have a stage in the concourse..

There's some Chinese dance performance going on

Oops, the picture macam senget abit, take another 1..

Is this better?

Gah.. more or less the same lah... How nice can a picture taken with a handphone be??

Ok, here's part of how the building looks from the outside...

Typical AEON feel

The symbolic JUSCO tower

And oh, being patriotic eh? Merdeka is closing in..

It was really hot and sunny that day, even though it's already 5.30pm.. Can't really take more outdoor photos with my phone... so that's it for today...

And oh ya, the traffic totally sucks around that area... It took me more than 30 minutes to reach from the North South Highway Juru exit...

So... that's it... my UK Summer Semester, Europe Tour, London and Dubai... last year, 2007.

Suddenly, it dawned on me that, I'm finally done with this tedious blogging/recording process.. it was tiring, blogging about things that happened last year: filtering photos, uploading photos, trying to recall as many details as possible, and trying to make my posts as interesting as possible...

But it was great fun.. really.... kinda ensures that the memories will be safeguarded for a long long time, it brings smiles and laughters for me whenever I'm writing, it brings smiles and laughters to my friends reading it, and hopefully, it brings happiness to anyone of u who read all these posts all this while, be you nuffnangers, friend's friends, or some blog-hoppers..

Now that I'm done with these, I realized that I have nothing much left to blog about.. I'm not going to convert this place into a boring day-to-day diary.. I'll need something more interesting to continue writing...

I'm going to work in Penang, sooner or later... so maybe I'll think of something interesting to write for awhile.. maybe trying to describe how it will be like for a KL-ite to move up north and settle down in this island...

As of now, I really have no idea what I will be doing... all I know is that, I'm quite worn out now.. maybe I'll go take a nap... cheers~

September 25 2007 - Leaving UK

Finally, this is my last post for being in the UK...

Excited, yet reluctant to leave the UK

We figured it would be better to make our way to the departure hall and check in as early as possible...

What are they doing??

Here is where we're supposed to check in

1 last checking to make sure everything is in place

And then off we went to check in our luggage and to get our air tickets...

This is how Cath looks like after everything is settled

While we were busy dealing with the officer at the counter, Peggy bumped into 1 of her friend, also taking the same flight...

Erm, quite lenglui also XD

Our flight is 8.55pm, we were done checking in and everything about 6.30pm, so we have about 2 hours before we have to go to the boarding gate...

And.. we also have some loose change of a few pounds and some pennies and pences.. so....

Time to check out the cafe

Cath doesn't have any loose change

She's just kepoh-ing helping to choose which dish to buy...

Some of the food sold in the cafe

In the end, we settled for: Jacket Potato with Beans, Quarter Chicken with Chips, and some Curly Fries..

Ta Da~

10-15 minutes later...

This is what's left

There's still alot of time left... we basically spend the bulk of it sitting around in the cafe, doing our own stuff..

Brain Brain is quite busy

U see, there's a limit of 6kg for our hand carry, and Brain's backpack vastly exceeded that weight.. so he had to take out everything and decide which things are unnecessary and should just be dumped...

Cath found a magazine and began to be immersed in it

I content myself by just sitting idle

Peggy? Camwhoring all the time

About an hour before take-off, we proceeded to have our hand carry scanned and go through the customs...

Another photo

Brain is still packing -.-"

Going through the customs

Hmm, lenglui officer too XD

And 1 last group photo in the airport

And then, it's boarding time...

Here's us on the plane

Still excited while feeling reluctant to leave...

The plane has an interesting ceiling

Well, I shall end the whole of our UK adventures with 2 goodbye videos...

Bye Bye indeed... we're gonna miss this country... time to head home to Malaysia....

Oops! Not Malaysia yet... there's another twist to our returning home.... we're gonna transit in Dubai, and with a little RM29 fee, the 4 hour transit can be upgraded to a 2 day stopover pass...

Dubai here we come!!

September 25 2007 - To Manchester Airport

It's finally our last day in the UK... our Emirates flight will depart Manchester Airport at night, so today will be no more sightseeings in London, but making our way to the airport... and this is a few steps process...

Step 1: Get ourselves to Euston Tube Station from our hostel by foot...

Euston stations is actually the same distance as the Russell Square station.. our Generator Hostel is somewhat in the middle of the 2 stations... After a hearty breakfast, we set off with all our luggage...

Step 2: Get to Victoria Tube Station...

We're all loaded with luggage

Oh ya, from 7 of us, now it's down to 5 of us... Keen and Cannas are taking Thai Airways on a different date, so they went off to some relative's place to hangout...

And here we are, Victoria Tube Station

Step 3: Make our way to the Victoria Coach Station by foot...

I'm used to carrying heavy stuff when helping my dad out with his schoolbag business, so I'm being the perfect gentleman here and help all of them carry the big luggage up and down the stairs...

15 minutes of walking later, Victoria Coach Station!

Cath is sad that we will be leaving London

Step 4: Get onto the bus to Manchester city..

Here's the National Express booking printout of our bus

Now, National Express is the inter-city bus service running through the whole of the UK, and they frequently have this funfare for online booking where u get to buy tickets for popular routes at really really cheap prices, starting from as low as £1, and lucky for us, London - Manchester route has this funfare thing, which of course we booked!!

Waiting to get on the bus

My O2 SIM card has quite alot of credits left, and I basically have no one to call so...

Let Cath use it,

And let How Chen use it as well..

On the bus

It's a 5 hour journey to Manchester... and I spent the time gazing out of the window, trying to savour as much England scenery as possible before leaving...

Step 5: Take the intra-city tram to Manchester Airport

We were expecting the bus to go straight into the city, but somehow, with alot of good fortune, the bus miraculously turned into the airport 1st!

We immediately rushed forward to tell the driver that we are disembarking here...

Woohoo!! We're 2 hours ahead of schedule, having nothing to do in the airport, but it was great! At least, we saved £2.50 per person for the train ride and alot of hassle for the luggage carrying!

In the airport

We're absolutely elated with this slice of good fortune on our last day in England...

And that's how we made it from London to Manchester Airport...

The next post will be the last post about the UK.... Can't believe I'm finally going to make it to the end in this day-by-day posts of my 1 semester UK and Europe adventures, which all actually happened last year..
