September 23 2007 - Trafalgar Square

Today is the 3rd day of our stay in London, and the most important for me personally...

No, what I'm going to post now is not that most important thing... that's gonna come after this...

A photo outside our hostel to start things off

This morning, we are heading to Trafalgar Square. This place is located in the heart of London, and is another popular tourist attraction...

The square is named as such to commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar. Basically this battle is the turning point in the battle between the English and Napoleon French, resulting in the crushing of the allied forces of the French and Spanish..

Ok, let's skip the history, go read it up yourself..

The trademark of this square? There's 2...

Trademark #1

Nelson's Column - a monument to commemorate Admiral Nelson, the main admiral in the Battle of Trafalgar, who died in the latter stages of the war..

This monument is very big... colossal is an overstatement but... still very big... look at the pedestal holding the columns.. doesn't look big right?

What do u think now?

Ok here's a photo of me

Trademark #2 and me

There's 4 lion statues guarding the 4 corners this Nelson's Column.. It's made of bronze, and it's quite slippery, so I do not recommend u guys climbing onto any 1 of them..

Getting to where they are is quite dangerous, do this at your own risk

For us Malaysians, there's another significance in this Trafalgar Square... I mean across the road from this square...

Does the flag on top of the building look familiar?

Upclose on the building

They even have a friggin office for Tourism Malaysia in London!! I'm wonder if this office really have any justifiable contribution to our Bolehland's tourism...

It was still early to head to the main event for today, so we decided to head to Chinatown again to look for lunch... since it's just 2 streets away...

Another group photo at the Chinese Arch

This, is where u should not come to cure your crave for Malaysian food

Why? Because it's blardy mahal @ expensive compared to those in the Malaysia Hall cafeteria...

This is where u should come if u wanna jump aeroplane

That is if u understand what jump aeroplane means.. not gonna elaborate here...

I forgot how we solved our lunch for the day, miraculously no photos in my disposal.. anyway, let's look forward to my next post: the most important place to go in London, for me personally..
