Chinese New Year

i'm not sure what to blog about. guess i'm pretty much pissed that the wi-fi router at my home works like an old junk that will go bust after 10-20 minutes and then needs a cooling down period of half a day or so to recover....

argghhhhhhhhh...

anyway, it's been a pretty quiet chinese new year for me, haven't been going out due to the weather that sucks.. hot, dry, sticky... haihz....

did went out and hang out with a bunch of college mates yesterday; tried axian dim sum at bandar puteri, puchong; spent the whole morning and afternoon playing blackjack and texas poker; win big lose big win big lose big win big lose big end up after 1 day hard work lost rm10... sienzzz... but fun la hehehe...

wanted to watch movie, but due to the poor internet connectivity has been unable to load gsc.com.my properly hence unable to do e-payment ticketing...

let's see what today/tomorrow hold for me... thursday i will hang out with a bunch of surians (my high school mates)...

oh ya btw, tell you guys something, as much as i feel peeved about the wi-fi router, i'm refusing to do anything to fix it. i feel that i'm no longer the main user of this junk, i only come back for a few times a year, and a few days each time, i'd want those people who use it the most to take responsibility to take care and fix their own internet. it feels more sucks to see your siblings be irresponsible and dependent on you, to shake their heads for something as simple as internet than to be unable to use internet properly for a few days...

ok the internet has been working for about 15 minutes now, it will go anytime from now, let's hope it hangs on until i hit the publish post button...

kthxbye... gong hei fatt choi.... huat ahhhhhh!!!!!

Changi Airport

The last time I board a plane back to Penang from Changi, I had about 30 minutes to check-in, go through customs and boarding.

This time...

You see, my flight was 7pm, the plan was finish up my work at the sub-con's site around 4pm, and make a dash to the airport. In reality, I was too efficient, finished everything before lunch time, and ended up in the airport by 1pm.

Lots of free time... can lepak-lepak, finally can take some photos...

McCafe, you don't find this in Malaysia (at least not to my knowing lah)... they are McDonald's owned, but they don't sell burgers, they just sell coffee, like Starbucks...

Lunch at the famous Soup Restaurant. Famous according to my friends and colleague lah.. Nah they even have website one...

On the waitress's (quite pretty one) recommendation, I ordered a soup, a fish and a rice...

1. 淮山杞子参须顿鸡汤 Double Boiled Waisan & Ginseng Root Chicken Soup

2. 清蒸鳝鱼片 Steamed San Yu

3. 手剁肉饼砵子蒸饭 Beggar Bowl Steam Rice with Hand-chopped Minced Pork:

The soup was okay, the rice was forgettable, the fish.... AWESOME! AMAZING! SUGOI!!! I'll have it again if I go to Singapore again!

One good thing about Changi airport food is that the price here is the same as the price outside, unlike our beloved 1Malaysia where food at airport outlets are more expensive than outside food by a huge margin...

After lunch, there's still hours to kill, I was at Terminal 2, so I took the Skytrain to the newer and bigger Terminal 3, where all the long distance international flights take place...

Here I discovered a more interesting restaurant than the Soup Restaurant..

Ladies and gentleman, I present you...

Hahahaha... I regret not exploring more before making my choice of restaurant... Hmm, maybe next time I can eat here instead...

This restaurant, not just the name, even the decoration is like those that you see in the TVB ancient style dramas, with those wooden stools and tables.. Even the waiters and waitresses dress up like what you'd imagine of 店小二...

(店小二/Dian Xiao Er/Dim Siu Yi literally translates to Little Second of the Shop, is used to refer to the assistant of the restaurant's owner in ancient China)

Some more random photos from Terminal 3:

After tired of lepak-lepak around, there's still 3 hours to go till boarding time... so....

End up sitting around at Starbucks until 6pm boarding time... Starbucks and not McCafe because McCafe don't have power plug...

That's all I have from my recent Singapore business trip...

Taxi

Hopping onto a Singaporean taxi, chances are you might see this:

It might look rude and offending to certain people, but I find this quite.... professional...

Imagine hopping onto a taxi in KL, especially if you look like a tourist... You're more likely than not to end up being taken on a journey around the world before arriving at your destination... and those cabbies... 9 out of 10 never use the meter nowadays... they'll just overcharge you by at least 5 times the normal rate compared to metered fare...

Singapore? Not a chance.. At the end of your journey, a receipt will be printed, stating the per km rate, distance traveled, and total price...

Although it's bloody mahal also lah... especially.... even taxi also charge GST!!! KNNBCJB!!!!!

Orchard Road

Staying at the heart of Orchard Road, I had the opportunity to explore this famous shopping street of Singapore for a bit...

Managed to visit the newest kid on the block shopping centre of the street, the Ion Orchard...

They claim to house the largest LV store in Asia...

However, I'm only free to roam around at night (I'm on a business trip ok? Day time = work work work)...

My handphone cam can only capture this kind of stuff:

So I gave up taking pictures...

Anyway, Orchard Road is... well... rather easy to recognize...

Along the road, you will be able to see: Orchard Shopping Centre, Orchard Plaza, Orchard Central, Orchard MRT, Orchard Boutique, Orchard Travels, Orchard Cafe, Orchard Chicken Rice, Orchard papaya farm...

You will also be able to see lots of OL and O2L (Orchard Lala and Orchard Office Lady)...
