Beside me, there was an Indian couple... suddenly, the girl's phone ring... she answered the call... below is an extract of what I heard her say through the phone to her friend/mother/sister/whoever la, I don't know, let's just refer to this caller as friend...

Lone Star Steakhouse @ Loveland

Our favorite dinner place @ Loveland is a place called Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon...

It is located just on the opposite side of Stone Creek Circle from our hotel, 2-3 minutes walk away...

This place is highly recommended by our colleagues who came on business trips before, according to them, this place serves the best steaks and rib eyes in Loveland...

My angmoh counterparts who went to Malaysia said, "Your beer sucks! You should try American beer!", so I made it a point to try the brands that I've never seen before in Malaysia...

For example, this Miller Lite...

If you notice the mug was kind of foggy, this was because it came straight out of the freezer, and the beer would go into the mug...

To be honest, it tastes the same as our Heineken... no difference what?! But then, I'm not really a beer guy myself, maybe I'm not qualified enough to comment...

Some of the food we had in Lone Star...

Caesar salad (side dish) :

The romaine is top notch freshness... I wonder if it is from vegetable farms nearby...

Sirloin/Chicken Breast Combo with Mashed Potato :

The sirloin looks like a piece of charcoal, but... once a slice of it ends up in your mouth...

Fried Shrimp Dinner with Texas rice :

Not recommended for Malaysians, the shrimps are, well... Colorado is 3 hours flight from the coast, or 24 hours drive... do the math and you'll more or less figure out the freshness... and the rice is not similar with Asian rice in terms of texture... sum it up, you'd feel alien instead of Malaysian with this rice...

Big Brownie Blast (dessert) :

One word: HEAVEN!!!!

And, the "extra" benefit of dining in Loveland...

Stone Creek Circle @ Loveland

Our hotel is located at an area called Stone Creek Circle... It is quite a beautiful area, with peaceful surrounding...

This is a real estate building which sits in the middle of the "circle", forgot the company name, something Mindle...

The icon of Loveland...

Trees with read leaves, and nice flowers...

One side of Stone Creek Circle...

Another side of Stone Creek Circle...

Hmm... probably if I used a DSLR, the photos would look more majestic...

The Hotel @ Loveland

Our hotel for the 2 weeks is Hampton Inn Loveland...

It's a small hotel, less than 100 rooms altogether... but it's cosy and warm...

The reality is very much as what they claim...

My room...

I don't know about how other hotels will fare, but this is a nice hotel...

Heading to Loveland

After 1.5 days in SF, time to head to our final destination *choi!! sounds like that horror movie, but that's how the flight attendants call it*...

Boarding a domestic flight in the States could be a major shock for those not used to it (for example, me)... the airport terminals are not segregated by destination, but by airlines... meaning, they have a terminal for US Airways flight, a terminal for Virgin Airways, and for my case, a terminal for United Air...

Photography is not allowed in the check-in and security check area, and check-in is self service at the kiosks. If you have check-in luggage, just click that option at the kiosk and then someone will appear out of nowhere to collect your luggage...

This is what it looks on the way to our boarding gate (after all those security screenings)...

Our flight...

The plane took off 30 minutes behind schedule, and still arrived at our destination 30 minutes ahead of schedule... The whole flight took 2.5 hours, nothing delectable on flight, no sui sui stewardesses, all lao char bor... *yawnzzz*...

Pay attention to the billboard...

Yay! This is our final destination, Denver @ Colorado...

This Denver airport has a main terminal and 3 "Gates" building... we need to take the train to the main terminal for baggage claim...

No, actually Denver is not our final destination... we are actually heading towards Loveland, which is a little town 60 miles north of the airport...

The way we are going to get there is by this...

We rent car, and we drive... shall elaborate more on this ride of ours in later posts...

US clouds and sky and highway...

RV @k@ recreational vehicle, we also call it caravan in Malaysia... you'll see loads of these all over the States... they have RV parks everywhere...

After an hour's drive, with some help from our Where2 (Avis's Garmin GPS service)... finally we arrived at our final destination... really final destination...

Hampton Inn Loveland...

The coming posts will be about Loveland...

Cath Tour @ SF

A good thing that came out of the stay at SF is, I get to meet a friend who also came from Penang...

We met up over the evening, and I got some sort of a private tour to a few locations...

#1. Lombard Street

Honestly, apart of the road being curvy curvy, I really still don't understand what's so special about this spot... Some more it is not a dedicated tourist attraction, it is just a road smack in the middle of a housing area...

But still, it is a tourist spot, many people stop here to take photos.. so, well...

#2. Ghirardelli chocolates & ice-cream

Remember the attraction too far to walk on my morning walk?

An attraction too far to walk is never too far to go in a car, and Cath's got a car...

Chocolate mill...

Ice-cream cafe...

Ice-cream!!!

#3. Fisherman's Wharf

Basically the most happening tourist district in SF...

Yachts...

Warship...

Alcatraz viewed from Fisherman's Wharf...

Pier 39,

the most happening pier of Fisherman's Wharf... reminds me of Blackpool's North Pier...

Seals @ Fisherman's Wharf...

Lenglui @ Fisherman's Wharf... *oops*

Boudin @ Fisherman's Wharf...

The bread and sourdough specialist...

#4 Clam chowder

Must try delicacy of SF...

But you gotta like the sourdough, otherwise... you'll probably not gonna like it...
