Universal City @ LA (Proper)

Alright alright, no more jokes...

It was not easy to get to Universal City by yourself, as a tourist, I tell you. You need to walk, take a few trains, walk again, take another train, and walk again, until you arrive...

And you don't really arrive at the doorsteps of the entertainment city, you arrive at the foot of a hill, the city is on the hill... they have free shuttle bus to ferry you though...

It's not a long ride, about 5 minutes only...

This is the entrance of Universal Studio. Universal City is just lots of shops built around Universal Studio...

By the time we arrived, it was already noon, and Universal Studio closes at 6.00pm, and the entrance fee was US$90/person, it really made no sense to queue up, pay that money, get inside and spend another 6 hours queueing...

So, we did what most tourists do anyway...

That's it, proof that I've been to the entrance of Universal Studio LA.

We lepak around the city for awhile...

They have this official souvenir megastore...

Lots of toys and trinkets inside...

Somemore walking around...

We're getting hungry, time to look for lunch... the place we chose was this Chinese restaurant, because that's the only place with rice... =.="

To be honest, their Chinese food stays quite true to its origin... no sugary fare here... maybe its just Loveland.... hmmm...

Stir-fry eggplant was good....

My colleague had the Panda Rice... which looked kinda good...

I had shrimp wan tan mee, it did taste quite like the ones I had in Guangzhou long long ago, so yeah... nice~

After filling up, time for more lepak...

We came across this store called IT'SUGAR...

I don't quite get what they specialize in, there's a section for candy, then next to it is clothes section @.@" ... But apparently they are quite huge in the US, they have stores in Florida, in Las Vegas as well...

And of course there's the cinema... how can this place be called Universal City if there's no cinema, right?

There's also some minor activities for people to play... for example we saw this thing that I do not know how to call it, so I'll just call it The Flying Dutchman...

Also saw some really really cute kids...

It was quite ok, even though we did not pay the US$90 entrance fee... maybe next time...
