Blue Reef Fish & Chips

Drove down to the much discussed Straits Quay to see see look look and to hunt for dinner just now... found out that the place was pretty deserted... quite nice nonetheless... has that Victorian feel in it... feels quite like a couple of em' shopping malls in England actually... nostalgic nostalgic...

There are quite a number of eateries there, but only one looks to be almost fully seated...

So Blue Reef Fish and Chips it is...

Being in Straits Quay, this place is essentially a not so cheap dining outlet, they do have some Happy Hours and Promotions though... so you know when is the best time to come if you want it cheaper...

We had 1 of their signature Fish and Chips, and another Grilled Fish Fillet.

Beer Buttered Garoupa and Chips -

Garoupa is called Kueh Gao in Hokkien, I have no idea what that means either, its a type of fish you can get locally, and they get it fresh from the fisherman daily...

Grilled Halibut Fillet -

The halibut is air flown from the States daily, according to the waitress. If you play Cafe World on Facebook, you might be familiar with this fish name...

At the waitress's recommendation, we also had the Creme Brulee, which is basically cream burnt on the outside,

But fluffy on the inside...

Meal was fine. The fish were quite fresh, dessert was not too sweet, waitress is very helpful..

And most important of all, dining with good company is always great :D
