(HT) Roman Abramovich 4 - 0 Tony Fernandes

It really took my by surprise, how easily Chelski scoring on almost each attack they launched...

I think I know what's happened...

QPR was expecting a tired Chelski, fresh from the exertions with Barcelona... heck, they even rested Didier Drogba... I guess Mark Hughes could smell an opportunity for a win here, so instead of parking the bus, they tried to attack and played an open game...

Instead, they got a mauling, the first 2 goals rocked their confidence, and it took them another 2 goals to realize they can't fight an open game and begin to tighten it up...

Sparky miscalculated 1 thing which proved fatal...

Seems like Torres is finally hitting form...

It's still half time though... I wonder if Tony Fernandes' boys can do a Everton...

Bersih 3.0 @ Penang Esplanade

I was undecided whether to go or not until almost the last minute. But my friend offered to fetch me, no need me to drive. And, this is Penang, Uncle Lim's territory, if my KL friends are willing to brave the tear gas and water cannons, what excuse do I have?

And, 身为大马人, 如果不去Bersih, 同条咸鱼有乜分别? (As a Malaysian, if you don't attend Bersih, what difference do you have with a piece of salted fish?)

So...

Left: Self bought, Right: Bersih organizers provided

The road blocks and traffic jams were non-existent here

Arrived at 1.45PM, there are already some crowds gathered in the centre of the field

2PM, we were alternating between standing and squatting near the middle of the crowd

2PM, behind me

 2PM, on my right side

It was quite difficult to find a good spot to really 'duduk', it was drizzling the the field was all wet.. I did not do much sitting to be honest, but then, I believe even standing in this crowd beats sitting down in front of your computer by a thousand miles...

2.30PM, yellow balloons releasing ceremony, Uncle Lim just arrived to the scene

3PM crowd, we already moved to the side, and somewhere closer to the front

3.30PM crowd, we already moved 'upstairs', near to where the organizers were, overlooking the masses

When we arrived, the crowd was in the hundreds. By 2PM, the crowd was a positively 5000 strong. By 3.30PM, the crowd definitely swell to more than 10000. The gods were nice to us, it was drizzling lightly all through the rally, there was no hot sun. It only began to rain more heavily 10 minutes after the gathering ended.

I know our KL counterparts were getting it rough with the tear gases and water cannons, no such thing over here, it was like a party atmosphere. I think those thugs dare not mess around in Uncle Lim's territory.

If you read from the newspapers and watch the TV3 news saying the crowd is just few hundred or 2000, and that we disbanded due to heavy rain, please be assured that those are bullshit.

Lastly, show you a short clip of Penang people's Bersih passion...

Bersih 3.0

It seems that there is not much hype and publicity for this round, is it? I wonder if Ah Jib Gor has acquired some smart strategist services..

I will attempt to guess what will happen on the actual day:

1. There will be no police or RELA anywhere near the hotspots. They will be replaced by BN thugs.
2. The thugs will attempt to provoke the attendees to whack them and get into violent confrontations.
3. Mainstream media reporters will appear in full force to capture the scenes as said in #2.
4. Next day, the TV3 news and all those newspapers would publish these scenes in front page.
5. Jibby and company will come out and claim: "See, I told you so. Demonstration = violence, and the police are there to protect you."
6. Our parents would read the newspapers and agree. Actually they will agree with almost anything the newspapers said.

Hope my predictions go wrong...

How Linsanity got into Harvard

You gotta play lots of Fruit Ninja as exam practise...

Kev: Step 4, you gotta look good.
Lin: That's done.

Cadbury Fair @ Queensbay Mall

Chanced upon this Cadbury Fair at Queensbay Mall's Centre Court yesterday lunch time.. the crowd was crazy!

But then, there were quite a few 'pok pok chui' college girl promoters there, I guess it is understandable XD...

The colleague (that is happily married and just came back from maternity leave) got excited by balloon giveaways and got herself one. She was jumping around all the way back to the car... Yeah, I suppose a few months old baby would be super excited when she bring the balloon back home...

Lunch

We had our quarterly team lunch at the Traders Hotel today. It was a buffet, but being the health conscious person that I am, these are the only things that I ate...

Trust me, pleaseeeeeeeeee....

Earthquake

Yesterday was the first time we actually did an evacuation that wasn't a drill (and hopefully the last time as well)...

I was at my cubicle discussing some work stuff with a colleague when I suddenly felt my chair shaking. I thought my colleague was fooling with me and kicking my chair. Suddenly everyone was on their feet, and I noticed a sign tag hanging on the wall shaking.

I look at him, he look at her, she look at me, everyone looking at each other for a few seconds, then we realized what's going on. Amazingly, everyone was very calm and composed, we just made our way out of the office building through the emergency exit in swift order.

I wasn't in Penang when the tsunami struck in 2004, so I didn't know how it felt like, but colleagues told me the shake this time is more obviously felt. Last time, nobody evacuated. Thank God/Allah/Buddha/Zeus/whatever you are praying that there is no tsunami this round.

I wonder if this is really a prelude to the main event... it feels much like living the "2012" movie...

JB 2012

Reason for the enforced absence for the past 2 months: sudden business trip to JB...

Only 3 pictures to show of this time...

Drove to Singapore to drop of my mom, visited a niece in this hospital with a shopping mall on the ground floor

Nourishing pot @ Tang Shifu KSL City

Interesting quote from the menu of a certain restaurant that I can't remember

Genie in a Bottle (Alternate Universe)

One day, a fisherman found a bottle, which Solomon had imprisoned a genie in. When he opened the bottle the genie was released and it wanted to kill the fisherman. The fisherman was perplexed. He had released the genie and yet the genie wanted to kill him rather than reward him.
The genie then explained that initially it had sworn to reward anyone who released it. However, after a long time, no one came to release him. Eventually, the genie got so angry that it swore it would kill whoever released it.
